See this kid?
Don't let his sleeping innocents fool you. He's a screamer. "Oh it can't be that bad." You think to yourself. Ha! Think again. This kid'll out scream any kid you got and has been this way since the day he was born.
He has screamed in the car all the way from Burley, Idaho to Idaho Falls. Crashed for 20 minutes only to wake up and start whaling again. If you put him in his room and shut the door for some "time out" he'll scream for more than an hour if you let him. AND he'll bang things on the door. Anything he can find.
Today went like this: grouchy pants needs a nap. We come home and prepare for nap time. Step one, take shoes off. Crying ensues. Step 2, try to read him a book. All hell breaks loose. I put him in his room because there is no reasoning with this kid like this. He cries & tries to run out of his room. He gets put back in his room with the door shut this time. *He weeps, he wails, he whacks stuff against the door. If the whacking gets too heavy I go in and take out whatever it is.* Repeat.** After taking out: 1 basket of stuffed animals, 1 box of Mr. Potato heads, 1 box of marble mania, 1 Melissa & Doug shape sorter toy, 1 pop up 123 toy, 1 fisher price drum, 1 hammer/ball toy, and 1 DVD player (yes the DVD player was found by the door not on the dresser where it normally goes for breathing treatments) I finally decided to go in and stop him. As I was opening the door he was going for the little people train set to whack against the door no doubt. This went on for at least 45 minutes.
We could have never done cry it out with this kid he'd have cried til he threw up every time. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this 2 year old.
