Institute Class and a sewing project

Today the things that made me happy were actually things from yesterday. I was able to complete a sewing project in the same day that I started it. We received a high chair from Corey's parents this past weekend, the vintage kind without a seat belt or leg separator. It's lovely and doesn't take up a lot of space but Kylan likes to slouch in it and tries to slide out the bottom. Corey's grandmother's solution to this was to tie the kids in with what corey's dad calls a clothes line apron. So, I attempted to make one with much success. After a few careful measurements and some scrap fabric, a good nap from Kylan and pleasant play afterwards we had this:




So Ky's not very happy in the photo but I was happy it was done and it didn't take me a week! I ironed it the following day and it works great. Yay for being productive, too bad it doesn't happen everyday :-/

ITs TIME for a CHANGE

I'm tired of being unhappy with my life. I'm tired of wishing I was one of you instead of me. I'm tired of hoping tomorrow will be better. And I'm tired of thinking "someday". So it's time for a change. It's time to start looking for blessings and reasons to be happy with the life I've got, otherwise I'll spend the whole thing wishing and will be utterly disappointed all of the time. So here's my pledge: I will find one thing to be happy about or thankful for everyday. And today it's this guy:

Happy New Year!!! I think my resolution will be to take more snap shots of my family.

Santa Clause is my Father-in-law...

Proof that my father-in-law is Santa Claus:

His looks aren't the only thing that make him Santa Claus, his personality fits to the T. He is always jolly and kind to everyone. He'd give you anything you needed no questions asked. He'd be there to help and make a miracle happen when everyone else says it can't be done. We hae been blessed to have encounters with this man on multiple occasions, and our most recent is no exception to his working of miracles. If you're in Twin Falls, please visit our Santa Claus and have you picture taken on the 17th & 18th at the Magic Valley Mall, you'll make his Christmas. I promise.

On our way home from Thanksgiving, headed back to Rexburg, we got stuck in a 4 foot snow drift. Corey tried to get us out but couldn't do it on his own, so Santa came to the rescue.

His sleigh may not be red, but don't let that fool you. He drove up bucking snow (cue heroic music) and tried to pull us out, but lack of traction foiled his plan, but before he could put his snow chains on a snow plow magically appeared.

They had to plow and then shovel the snow out of the way. (see my Santa Claus) Once they removed the snow they hooked us to the plow and pulled us out.

And I dub thee Recipe Collection Day!

So here's how it started: I want to this website and started looking @ recipes. It started with the minestrone and escalated from there. SEVERAL tab later (you know just 50 or so) I had to stop myself and start printing these puppies. So now I have 30+ bookmarks waiting for me & about 10 pieces of paper wanting me to make them. I can't do them all now of course but I won't have to think of dinner ideas for a while!
