Perfect Day
Today was a rainy day filled with sleeping boys & baking cookies. Corey came home from class and helped me FINALLY get laundry folded while Kylan was sleeping on the floor. Ky woke up, had a snack, and fell back asleep with Daddy.
While they were sleeping I ran off to the kitchen to bake cookies for my Visiting Teaching ladies (I'm coming I promise! I had a baby and my companion moved so cookies might have to be it this month. Sorry)
All the while rain was pattering against the windows and I was listening to Regina Spector's "The Call" and anything else iTunes Genius picked up like Sara Bareilles "Gravity".
All in all a pretty perfect day in my opinion. I couldn't have asked for a better one. It's nice to finally just enjoy life and be in the moment rather than worrying about the next. These moments don't come everyday but I sure do enjoy them when they do.

Kylan Corey King
Here is to my beautiful wife of to whom I have been married to for an exciting 2 years. I am looking forward to many more years to come filled with adventures.
Many of you readers out there are wanting the scoop on the birth of our little munchkin, Kylan. Well here it goes. Saturday, February 13th I was working at the ORC. I received a text at about 3:30 from Jentri telling me that she is experiencing "period like" cramps. I think, "sweet he's coming, we will have quite a while until he actually gets here". See, in our birthing classes we were told that on average first time labor is around 12 hours. Well, I get off work at 5 and pick up Jentri. She was feeling great so we went and picked up some last minute groceries. We came home and I fixed dinner, at 6:30 contractions got a little stronger but not strong enough to send us running. After dinner she got into the tub to try and relax and possibly help with the small contractions. While she sat relaxing I proceeded to get things put into the car. While in the tub Jentri's sister called and they chatted for half hour or so. Jentri was doing great, being able to talk through contractions and very cheerful about things. At 8:30 a contraction hit like non other, doubling Jentri over and lasting for 1 1/2 minutes. This is when we decided to get a move on. On attempting to get her out of the tub another contraction hit again dropping her to hands and knees, this one lasting 2 minutes. Those were only 2 minutes apart! At this time I knew we had better hurry. So, in a rush we ran up to the hospital, called our midwife on the way (who is a half hour away and is thinking that we are going up prematurely). We get into the exam room and Jentri has already hit the phase called "transition". They hook her up to monitors and find that she os at 8cm! They also find that Jentri's blood pressure has skyrocketed. About this time my memory gets blurred. They transport Jentri to the delivery room, our midwife enters the scene just as our baby is crowning, one more push and he came right on out. We arrived at the hospital at 9:15-9:30ish and delivered at 10:08.
So, there is the story for my perspective. Jentri will have to edit as she seems necessary. Now here are some photos of the event.

He's Here!
He was born Saturday evening at 10:08pm weighing in at 6 lbs 7 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. Mom and Baby are happy and healthy. We had an extremely FAST delivery. Our midwife showed up just in time to catch him as he came flying out. We are still in the process of trying to catch up on sleep and adjust to this new friend in our lives. No name has been chosen as of yet. Keep tuned in for updates later.

Purely Beautiful
I have always found pregnant women to quite beautiful. I still hold that to be true and I have proof! Jentri was kind enough to be my model for my studio lab.
